Reactive Magnesium Oxide Precipitated Nickel and Cobalt Technology

Conventional hydroxide precipitation process mainly has two technologies of sodium hydroxide precipitation and magnesium oxide precipitation. Compared with sulfide precipitation technology, hydroxide precipitation technology is simple to produce, low investment and operating costs, the disadvantage is that the product has high impurities and high moisture content.

The sodium hydroxide precipitation technology is represented by the PNG Rimu nickel-cobalt project, with a precipitation temperature of 60-70°C, a nickel-cobalt precipitation rate of 98%, a product containing 55%-70% water, and a Ni grade of ~40% in the product.
Activated magnesium oxide precipitation technology is used in the Australian project, which has a precipitation temperature of about 60-70°C, a nickel-cobalt precipitation rate of about 95%, a water content of 40%-50% in the product, and a Ni grade of ~40% in the product.
In addition, the newly developed lime precipitation nickel and nickel-calcium separation technology has been successful in the laboratory and applied for...
